My Clan Lord clan, the Rat Bastards were involved in a contest against another clan, the Dwarven Militia, today. It's a contest done in the spirit of fun, and the challenge we chose was a relay race.

Now, realize that people are supposed to interfere and mess with the people running as best they can. That's part of the contest.

We decided it would be funny to take one of the DM's runners to court, for "speeding." A court case would keep them tied up for quite some time, and give us a good advantage. The rules don't specifically forbid it, so we figured it would be amusing to do it. We knew some people might get upset at this, or think it's not in the "spirit" of things, but we figured if we're willing to deal with a friviolus verdict, and the associated fines and jail time, why not do it? And, worst case, we'll concede the race. We do these challenges for the fun involved, not to win

All in all, I think it was funny. Some people got very angry, and poor Vintus, who brought the suit, really bore the brunt of it. We were going to have None the Above, the town sheriff, do the lawsuit, be he wasn't able to, because he's "too new." If anyone really feels what we did is that awful, I think you need to take a deep breath, and remember that we're just playing a game. DM ended up winning anyway,and they did a great job in spite of our antics. I give them full credit for the victory, and most of them were really good sports, bad karma not withstanding.

Of course, if we had won, I bet they would have screamed bloody murder...
