Wow, I sure can't wait to get iSmell for my Mac!
According to a marketing lackey: "...The technology will allow users to send scented mail, to smell 'n shop, to watch scented DVDs and play scented games." Am I the only one who thinks this is the dumbest idea in the world? I don't need people to send me scented mail. I live in New York City, and the last thing I want is a device that allows other people to make smells in my apartment. I can just go outside if I want that type of experience. From the article: "What kind of smells can be emitted by the iSmell device? Just about anything you can imagine..." I can imagine some pretty bad smells... Actually, never mind imagining it, I already can make some pretty bad smells without this device. But if I know YOU have this device, I don't even have to be in the same room with you to make those bad smells, I can just send you an e-mail! And, the best thing is, there is no undo or cancel once the iSmell emits an SBD. This is only a few steps away from attaching a loaded machine gun to a mechanized tripod with a USB interface, and connecting it to your computer, and providing an email interface for it.
