All in favor of renaming the Puddleby Government eGroup to "Terence and Carl rearrange deck chairs on the Titanic" say "Aye!" The aye's have it. Sorry, Urgelt, you know I love ya, man, but this is Clan Lord, remember, not the United Nations. Once the fun quotient goes below a certain level, you are sucking mud, and it's time to abandon ship. When Notelrac digs his pontificating teeth into a mailing list, that fun-vampire pretty much leaves a dry corpse in his wake. Alas, ye Puddleby Government mailing list, we hardly knew ye.

I spent quite a bit of time clanning over the weekend. For me, right now, Clan Lord is the least expensive means of socializing, and seeing how I've hemmoraged money recently, I'll probably be clanning quite a bit. I managed to piss off Biff for letting wandering healers fall in the new bear cave while we trying to rescue. Keeping people coordinated in Clan Lord, especially a larger group, is pretty tricky to do. My personal rule of thumb is each person is first and foremost responsible for their own well-being. When I fall, it is always my fault. Even when some pinhead traps me against something, it's my fault, because I can always pull, and in a crowd, I need to be extremely careful. Now, with that said, I do make some effort to keep a group together. Things like stopping and yelling, waiting at snell transition and the likes, are important. I do these things. Now, if I am doing these things, and a healer decides to go off, on their own, when a fighter is clearly not visible, that's not my fault. Someone can say it's a fighters job to guard the healer, but it's a universal rule that all exiles must keep themselves up first. That means, if I am a healer that can have my ass bit in half by a snake, I make sure I am damn close to a fighter, or at least on the same snell. And, it was the healers who left the snell first, not me. All in all, unfortunate, but we got everyone up, rescued a few more people, and had a good hunt.

Also spent some time doing the creative role-playing thang, and it was a lot of fun. Quite a production, and thrown together rather quickly. I hope everyone involved had a good time. Nori wasn't around to throw in her two cents, but I rummaged around my notes, and made-do with what I had. After reviewing the text log of the whole scene, she was kind enough to say that I probably keep track of the whole tangled web better than she does. That's actually my plan, is to make her dependant on me for all the story-work, and then I can threaten to write her out of the script unless I get certain favors...

I did not go see Red Planet. I won't go see it. Apparently it's much worse than mediocre. Out of curiosity, though, I did Napsterize the soundtrack, and there's quite a few good tunes on there. Then again, I like weird soundtrack music, so your milage may vary. It inspired me to push a few more tunes on to my PJB-100 as well, though I still have almost 40% of the 6 gigs still free.
