I am a digital refugee now. My laptop, my pride and joy, my primary bitbox, is now in the hands of TekServe. They will try to recover my data. I was faced with a very difficult question: "Is this worth $600 to you?" That was a tough one. Times are tight for me but the idea of losing all my correspondence from years and years is just unbearable. I can't really afford to spend the $600 but my data is really priceless to me. Now I am sans-laptop until next week. I still have my PC and a bunch of old Macs at home, so I'll be around, but it's going to be wonky for the next 7 days, so if I'm a little slow to respond to email now you know why.

My birthday is coming up on the 30th and Donna and Alexis suggested a little celebration at Maison De Sade. It is one of two SM-themed resturants in Manhattan, the other being La Nouvelle Justine. I give them credit, it's a great idea but now I have to pick which venue. Nori's been with a group to La Nouvelle Justine, and had a very mixed impression, but another slightly more vanilla friend went with a group of people and had a great time. It's going to be a difficult choice. From the reviews I've seen, I am leaning towards Maison De Sade.
