Yet another home-cooked meal involving a bird. This time, it was a duck, and the home it was cooked in was Donna's and Alexis'. Despite the kind regularity that the two of them have me over, we never reach the conversational bottom of the soap opera that is Clan Lord. The food was good, as usual, and the conversation frequently heated. There is never a shortage of passion when the French are involved. So after the wine, the shibari, the duck, the argument, the homemade angelfood cake, and the tea, it was after 1AM, and time for the guest to make his gracious exit.

I love New York City during a holiday. The flight of people from my fair City leaves all of Manhattan with a delightful peacefulness. To the New Yorkers who flee to parts unknown by any means possible, I say "Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out." On these long weekends, you can almost feel the streets breathing a collective sigh of relief. The crowds are less, the laundry room is empty, it's quite nice. It's a pity they all start coming back tomorrow. Frankly, I can't think of any place I'd rather be than right where I am, but I lived on a tiny island for five years, so I might be a bit whacked.

I know what I should be doing today. Nori simply forwarded an email from Wormtongue about updating the site. She didn't write anything else, just forwarded the email. I get the hint. Damn. It is a blessing and a curse to be friends with a woman who knows how to push my buttons. And I mean all my buttons.

But, there's a little bit of time to slip into Alchera... It'll only be for a little bit...
