Did I get anything done yesterday? No. So tonight, while making sure to get some sleep since the train leaves at 6AM, I must clean the apartment and wash the giant heap of laundry.

I did have dinner with my ex. With the holidays and Conny's visit, we won't really see each other until after New Years. Walking her back to her place after dinner, we passed a place selling Christmas trees. As I mentioned before, a thing like a Christmas tree is much more important to her. They had some tiny ones, and we asked, and they were pretty cheap. So, on the spur of the moment, she got a small tree and a stand (for only $30 for both), which I carried back to her apartment. She also picked up some lights at a hardware store on the way. In about 10 minutes, she had a little tree with lights set up at her place, and I knew she felt better. I was glad to be able to do a little something to brighten our first Christmas apart for her. We had a lot of a great holidays together, so it's an especially difficult time.

On the way back to my place, I was walking by neighborhood megaplex movie theatre. It was almost 10PM, and there was a 10PM showing of Unbreakable. I've wanted to see this film, even though I've heard it's somewhat mediocre. I thought about waiting for Conny to come, but there are a lot of better films out that I'd rather take her to. And the only other person I'd probably see it with would be Alexis, but that won't be until after Conny's gone, and the film might be gone by then. So, on the spur of the moment, I turned into the theatre, and bought a ticket.

This isn't the first movie I've seen alone. I saw Space Cowboys alone too, a few months ago. I'm actually starting to enjoy it. The showing of Unbreakable was empty, perhaps 20 other people in the theatre. As you may know, it's done by the same director as the Sixth Sense. I enjoyed Unbreakable quite a bit. I had heard a lot of people had a problem with the ending. I didn't. I was surprised, and I didn't feel it was a cheap twist at all. It made complete sense in hindsight.

This weekend will be interesting when I see my family. My sister knows about this page, and had visited it at least once, but the rest of the familiy does not. When she told my Mom about it, my mother thought it was quite the wacked thing to do. My sister offered her the URL, but she declined. That's my Mom! She doesn't want to intrude on my life, like the rest of you nosy, rude people out there. I can just see it now:

"So, what do you write about?" Mother will ask.
"Lots of stuff. Observations and anecdotes about my life. Things that interest me, technology, online communities, sex."
"Sex?" she'll blink.
"Yes, alternative sexuality, actually. SM to be precise."
"You write about that on the Internet? Where anyone one can read it?"
"Sure."

This will be followed by her attempt to conceal a look of concern for my mental well-being.

I'm sure after I tell her all this, she'll definitely not want the URL. Though if my Mom ever does visit, it'll be a lot of fun if there's ever an opportunity to introduce my Mother to Conny.
