Happy belated New Year. I'm upset that I missed the chance to post on Binary Day (01/01/01), but the reason I missed posting was worth it.

We had a lively New Year's Eve, where Michael cooked a huge meal for us. Of course, Oliver was there, and his friend Saul. We ate good food, drank champagne, and caught a glimpse of the fireworks from my apartment window. Everyone stayed the night, so come morning their were worn out bodies sprawled everywhere. Donna and Alexis returned from their visit to some scary part of the country where her parents lived, and had called, all alert and awake. We managed to coordinate a brunch at the Landmark Tavern for all of us. I rallied the troops in my apartment, which was no small feat, and by the time Donna and Alexis showed up, we were ready to go. It was a very, very late brunch. So late, that by the time we were done stuffing ourselves with food, the sun was going down.

Shepherd posted an interesting remark in the discussions about the format of the site, and the discussion of sex here. It warrants a length reply, one that I've been thinking about since I read his comment a few days ago. It's hard for me to focus on writing when I've got Conny here with me, though. I never said I had a lot of discipline. That post is coming soon.

I heard a rumor that some people feel I am editing some of the discussions for content. If you post something, and it disappears, it's not me. I accidentally did delete a post of Donna's once (sorry Donna) when BlogVoices added the delete feature. But, other than that, I've never deleted anything anyone has posted. Disagreements are welcomed here. If I didn't want differing opinions, the link to post a comment wouldn't be "discuss" but "agree". If something you wrote is missing, keep in mind that BlogVoices is a very early beta. If you are totally paranoid, you can also email me your comment too.

The time with Conny flies by quickly, and the reality of her departure looms like a dark cloud. For the moment, I try not to look up at it, and enjoy the time we have left. Soon, though, we'll both be facing the less pleasent aspect of time apart. I'm not sure what we'll do.

On a slightly happier note, Nori returns to New York this week. There's been some interesting events in Clan Lord, and I'm hoping she might be able to help keep me distracted from my pain with some fun Clanning. It's been a long trip away for her, and she usually comes back charged up, full of ideas, so it is something to look forward to. And, I can show her all the nifty GM tricks I've learned in Alchera as well, now that Conny has taken me through the GM 101 class (I got a C, but I didn't do the homework.)
