Happy Valentine's Day
Conny took me to a local shopping mall. I think all shopping malls are made in one place, and then delivered to various parts of the world. This mall could have been anywhere, other than signage being in German and the food court serving the ubiquitious German beer, it was just like any other mall. It was still a nice mall, though, and with the weather being crappy, it was nice to be able to mill about and avoid the cold drizzle. We've been looking for a new collar for me, and of course, the sensible place to shop for one is a pet store. This can lead to a bit of awkwardness. "This looks about right, but is it the right size?" I ask. "One way to find out," Conny says. Great. I look around, knowing I'm probably on some surveillance camera, and the footage will end up on the German version of "Idiots Caught On Videotape" or whatever they have here. At least there is no one physically near by. I take the choke collar and see if it can make it around my neck. Luckily, it does. Now Conny has some options when it comes to collaring me. My leather collar is a bit, well, obvious. A woman can put a thing around her neck and play it off as a choker of some sort. It looks like a cute fashion statement. A guy, however, can't really make it work discreetly. Not that it really matters for me, since when I'm collared, a little bit of embarassment is part of the bargain. But now I have something that is more discreet, and lockable too. We tried to find corn starch for Conny's latex dress. Corn starch powder helps protect the latex, and makes it easier to shimmy into the thing. I read that regular talcum powder isn't ideal and corn starch was recommended. It turns out that Germans are not big on powders. In a drug store, we could find basic baby powder, and nothing else. In the supermarket, we could find all sorts of mixes for mondamin, knödelmix and kartoffelbrei, whatever the hell those are, but no corn starch. How do these people make oobleck? After the shopping, we headed home to rest up a bit, and get ready for "Girls Night." The most unusual thing I wore to "Girls Night" ended up being a tie. A bit of a disappointment, I'm sure, but I was certainly relieved. I actually chose to wear the tie myself, since I wanted to impress Conny's lady friends. We met for dinner in a trendy place called the Hong Kong Bar. When people tell you Germans are punctual, they aren't kidding. We were 10 minutes early, and both her friends were already there. I would be doomed if I lived here. Both Louise and Andrea, Conny's friends, were lovely. I had a great time. We ate some good food, and had a few drinks. Unfortunately, both ladies had to leave much too soon, since it was a work night. Helmut has sent me pictures from the the fondue and our trip to Alabama. I'll sort through them and share the highlights soon.
