Know when to fold 'em

Tonight is poker night with a few colleagues from work. Yours truly is being the host for the evening. This requires a slight "vanilla-fying" of the apartment. For this night the issues of Skin Two will be removed from the magazines on the end table. The edition of The Beauty of Fetish and Essential Knots & Basic Ropework go away for the night to be replaced with Picturesque Bermuda. The T.E.S. calander comes off the fridge. And, hopefully Conny will get all the rope off the living room floor too.

I've gone back and forth on the issue in my mind a few times, but in the end, I'm taking the path of least resistance. If I knew these guys from any place other than work, I wouldn't do a thing. But somehow, that whole work / personal life barrier seems like a good idea. Not that I wouldn't talk about SM stuff with any of them out of the office, I'm comfortable with that. I would just rather do it explicitly, in conversation, then implicitly with hints from things in my apartment. Still, it feels like a slight dishonesty. The decorum of office and working relationships is sometimes awkward. As completely out as I am with my lifestyle, I am careful not to force it on anyone. The people who work with me are stuck with me, so I have to be extra careful. Not that I'd get fired or anything. I just prefer to keep my sex life out of my work life.


Last Call

She describes the night of debauchery well. I'll just pitch in that we had a great night, it was incident-free, and we had a chance to talk to some really nice people. It even led to an invitation to attend another gathering this weekend... Very, very tempting. It is a lot of fun to dress up in our pervy finest and hit the town.
