Rock on
CNN flashes a map of Afghanistan, with certain cities labeled. The title of the graphic is "Cities Rocked". Cut to a view of smouldering ruins, entitled "al Qaeda Buildings Rocked." Excuse me? "Rocked"? Correct me if I'm wrong, but were not listing places the band "AC/DC" is touring. We're showing places that have been bombed. People are probably being killed. When I think of a city that's been rocked, being the target of large amounts of ordinance don't leap to mind. Leave it to CNN is use completely inappropriate and tacky slang. It's like having Beavis and Butthead doing the news: Beavis: "Woah! Check out that crater. That's cool!"CNN doesn't offer coverage of the war, but cheerleading. It's disgusting. It's also terrifying to think it's the primary source of information for a lot of people.
