Hot. Hot. Hot. Hot. Indoor fireworks only this year. This is not a complaint. We did venture out for some industrial strength doses of vitamin D, as well as to develop a real appreciation of our air conditioner. After all these months that its been open, we finally went inside the giant Toys-R-Us on Times Square. Not many toy stores contain a full size ferris wheel, though I could be wrong, since I don't get out of the city much. I wanted to buy the K'nex roller coaster set but a prudent >Conny observed we have no place to put it. Even when I suggest buying several sets and having it go all around the apartment, I was still shot down. Conny wanted a giant puppy doll that was bigger than my whole apartment, but I got to use the exact same argument used by her just moments before to get out of that one. Consolation came later when we visited Virgin a few doors down, and I scored my very own copy of The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. So all is well in the end.
